City Tower

The heart of the international business center
Project info
At around 300 meters high, the project study of an iconic tower’s sculpted shape gives it a striking profile visible from all the city center’s important reference points, as well as from the river. The City Tower’s location in the heart of the international business center has the potential to add a new landmark to the skyline that will be visible from far away.
The wind-shaped tower provides a streamlined building form, leading to optimized aerodynamic performance and improved pedestrian comfort. Wind is diverted through the tower’s form, thus reducing wind speeds at the facades. Fall winds and turbulence are minimized. The form is generated from wind flow lines. By sculpting the most critical facade of the building, wind force is reduced, and turbulence is minimized. The comfort level in and around the building is improved.
The limited distance from the core to the facade became the driving force behind the form-finding process. With the help of the tapered core, each floor plate is optimized to fit within the constraints of a minimum of 11 m and a maximum of 15 m. The tower’s office floors have a flexible layout. They include a retail zone on the ground level, which is connected to an urban plaza. There is also a common roof garden with greenery, multifunctional rooms for informal meetings and events, and a rooftop viewing platform with spectacular 360-degree views of the central city and beyond.
The tower’s intricate exterior geometry poses a challenge to implementing an optimized, comprehensible, and uniform facade system. Despite its complex appearance, we devised a straightforward installation process for our facade system that ensures uniformity across most of the tower’s exterior. Irregularities in the facade were minimized.
